1.Respiration is a physiological process in which cells of a living organism obtain energy in the form of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) by combining oxygen and glucose and releasing carbon dioxide and water as waste products. If respiration does not occur, living things will not get the energy they need out of food, and it would be absolutely worthless. All living things would eventually die, no matter the quality and amount of food.
